The Golden City of Rajasthan Jaisalmar

Jaisalmer nicknamed as "The Golden city", is a town in the state of Rajasthan. It is situated around 250 kilometres west of the Jodhpur. It is a World Heritage Site. The town stands on a edge of yellowish sandstone, crowned by a Sonar Quila (Fort), which enclose the palace and several Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples are finely carved. It lies in the mid of the Thar Desert and has a population of about 78,000. Jaisalmer is a tourist place and a Part of Tour Package of Rajasthan.
Places of Attraction:

One of the most magnificent appeals is the Fort of Jaisalmer known as the "Sonar Quila". The name is given because

Gadisar Lake : is a reservoir which supplies water to the city. It is bordered by temples and tombs of saints. At nominal Price you can take a Boat Ride. Nearby the Lake is a Cultural center and a Museum.

Jaisalmer Fort : Fort of Jaisalmer is also known as “Sonar Qila”. The rising and setting Sun gives a vibrant color to the fort. The fort shines when sun rays falls on the fort walls. There are several places in the fort which (at least five) gives a wonderful view out across the city and desert.

Havelis: Patwon-ki-Haveli is nearby from the main gates of the fort (a ten minute walk) and quite outstanding. It's a compilation of five houses, each one for the son of a prosperous trader who made money by providing money to the government. One of the havelis which is closest to the street has been reinstated and turned into a government museum.

The Jaisalmer tour is the part of the Jaisalmer Tour packages which offers the travelers with the variety of attractions few are named above. As per me I would suggest the foreign travelers to take the tour Packages of Rajasthan to enjoy the other places of rajasthan along with the Jaislamer.
